Annie October 2025

A Night to Remember: Our "Tomorrow" Shines Bright

What a spectacular week it has been! Our school hall was transformed into the streets of 1930s New York as our pupils brought the beloved story of Annie to life.

At the Dixie, we often talk about our "family values" and the importance of every individual’s contribution. This production was the ultimate embodiment of that spirit. From the opening notes to the final standing ovation, the sense of community was palpable.

Why It Was a Success

The standing ovations were well-deserved, but the real magic happened behind the scenes. This production succeeded because of:

  • A "Can-Do" Attitude: Whether it was learning complex choreography or mastering Brooklyn accents, our pupils approached every challenge with a smile and a "let’s do this" mindset.
  • Stepping Outside the Comfort Zone: We saw quiet students command the stage with powerful solos and others take on vital technical roles backstage. Watching our pupils grow in confidence has been the greatest reward.
  • Going the Extra Mile: Through every rehearsal, the dedication shown by the entire cast and crew was truly inspiring.
  • Raw Talent:The sheer caliber of acting, singing, and set design reminded us all of the incredible creative potential within our small school.

A Heartfelt Thank You

A production of this scale is a massive team effort that extends far beyond the school gates.

We want to say a huge thank you to our families. Your support—whether it was practising lines at home, sourcing obscure 1930s props, or simply cheering loudly from the front row—made this possible. We are so grateful for the way our parent community rallies around our children to help them shine.

Events like *Annie* remind us why our small school is so special: when we work together, even the biggest dreams are within reach.

"The sun’ll come out tomorrow"—but after a performance like that, we think it’s already shining pretty brightly on our school!
